ill titleHow It Works

ill_1It all starts with you sending a stereo track of your song(s). The easiest way is to email me an mp3 of your project. I can also accept WAV, AIFF, or SDII format files which you can upload to my site through FTP (explained below). If you’re a Mac person with an iDisk, we can also transfer files through your public folder. Last but not least you can also mail me a CD.

The most important thing to remember is to make sure the file you send starts at the VERY beginning of the session in which you recorded it. Include any count off, blank bars, or dead space. That way the online bass track I send will line up perfectly with your own tracks. If you used a click track, feel free to send it as a separate mp3.

At that point we’ll “discuss” your project by email or phone, confirming the exact tempo and key. Feel free to be very specific about what you want/hear for the bass track, if you know. Should it be…simple…busy…in at the first chorus…matching the guitar licks…in the style of a certain band or bassist? I’ll incorporate your ideas and make suggestions as well. When your custom online bass track is finished I’ll email an mp3 preview. If you need me to modify anything, the first revision is free.

Once you approve the preview bass track you can make payment through Paypal. If you don’t have an account you can set one up very quickly – it’s free! When your payment clears, I’ll email a link where you can download the final, full-size online bass track.

The final track I deliver can be whatever you need: Wav, AIFF, SDII, or hi-res Mp3 (can be emailed). Just let me know! If there are multiple bass tracks and/or I've also done drums for you, getting the files through an FTP client is the best way to go. For those who might not know, FTP stands for "File Transfer Protocol". It's an easy way to drag and drop multiple overdubs from my website to your computer. There are free FTP programs: FileZilla (PC) and Cyberduck (Mac). If you use FTP I'll send you the username and password to access your files. I can, of course, burn the files to a CD and mail it if you prefer. And I often use WeTransfer to send your completed bass track.
